40 Hour Famine

Chris O'Malley - Wednesday, August 31, 2011

On the 20th - 22nd  August, 80 MacKillop staff and students once again participated in the World Vision 40hr famine. This was a wonderful way for people to experience what it is like to really go without and by participating in this, well deserved money was raised to support those who a genuinely in need both here in Australia and abroad. In the past year, over 100 million people have been affected by a food crisis and there are now over 900 million chronically hungry people around the world, and approximately 1.4 billion living in extreme poverty. By participating in the 40hr, we as a community can make a difference to this world crisis. I will keep you posted as to our overall total for 2011.
