All teams have a bye  next week before playing CRC Caroline Springs at home on March 6.

 

MacKillop Masters Golf

Congratulations to Liam Cran of Year 9 on winning the 2012 MacKillop Masters Golf Tournament at Werribee Park.

Liam shot an excellent score of 83 to win his first Masters title. He will be joined by Chris Rae, Justin Green and Aidan Ramshaw in representing MacKillop at the SACCSS Golf Tournament on February 20.

Tuesday, September 20, at Meadow Glen, Epping:

MacKillop won four of the nine divisions- Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Junior Aggregate, Senior Aggregate. Four students won the individual champions medal in their respective age groups.

  • Kirsty Gosling (Year 7) – 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m Relay
  • Bradley Reynolds (Year 8) – 400m, Triple Jump, 4x100m Relay
  • Sarah Chapman (Year 8) – 400m & 800m
  • Harrison King (Year 11) – 100m & 200m

Other students to win multiple events on the day were: 

  • Adele Giarrusso (Year 11) – 800m & 1500m; 
  • Sean Cross (Year 8) – 800m, 1500m, 4x100m Relay
  • Liam Mower (Year 10) – Long Jump & Triple Jump;
  • Nyingong Bech (Year 7) – 100m & 4x100m Relay

SACCSS Athletics

On Tuesday, 20 September, 96 students represented MacKillop at the SACCSS Athletics Carnival at Epping.

At the end of 226 events, our students had won four of the nine divisions - Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Junior Aggregate and Senior Aggregate.


A special mention goes to Kirsty Gosling of Year 7 and Harrison King of Year 11 who both won the individual champions medal in their respective age groups.


Well done to all students on an outstanding performance.

SACCSS Chess Tournament

On 18 August, MacKillop’s first Chess team competed at the SACCSS Tournament at St Monica’s in Epping. A very enthusiastic team of Year 7 and 8 boys were successful in finishing second overall in the Junior division. A special mention goes to Year 8 student, Sunny Pidtala who won the silver medal after finishing in second place in a field of more than 80 competitors.

Senior Girls Netball Final

On 10 August,  the Senior Girls Netball team played in the SACCSS Grand Final at the State Netball Centre.  Unfortunately the girls went down narrowly in a high quality game worthy of a Grand Final.

Girls in Clay Target State Final

On 4 August, six students competed at the annual Schools’ Clay Target Championships held in Frankston. Congratulations go to Kaitlyn Sammut of Year 8 and Kiarra Preston of Year 10 who qualified for the State Finals to be held at Bendigo on 5 September.
