COVID-19 – 8 October UPDATE 1

Dear Parents/Guardians,

With the conclusion of our first week of Term 4, I want to congratulate our VCE, VSP and VCAL students on a somewhat seamless return to onsite learning, especially those who attended the GAT so successfully. It has been lovely to see students back on campus, and I very much look forward to the other year levels being able to return.

I wish to make you aware of a few essential matters relating to College events, as well as vaccination options for yourself and your family.

The College Calendar
As I’m sure you’re aware, many events in Term 4 have been affected by the roadmap out of lockdown. I ask that you please click here to access the most recent version of the calendar.

Vaccinations and Health Advice
A walk-up vaccination clinic has recently been established at Werribee Secondary College to support the uptake of vaccinations.

The clinic will be open on:
• Friday 8 October (4:00pm – 8:00pm)
• Saturday 9 October (9:30am – 5:30pm)
• Sunday 10 October (9:30am – 5:30pm)

Importantly, this clinic is open to walk-ins, meaning no bookings are required. I encourage our school community to take up the opportunity to be fully vaccinated.

As per the government mandate, MacKillop College is also in the process of consolidating staff vaccination records to ensure we are compliant. I take this opportunity to encourage anyone in the community with concerns regarding the vaccinations to contact the College. I have dedicated staff who are working with health professionals to make sure you have access to accurate and reliable information should you have queries.

Air Purifiers
The Victorian Government will be delivering air purifier units to MacKillop College. The installation of these air purifiers will be prioritised for higher risk areas, such as the sick bays, staff rooms, canteens, school reception areas and specific student centres, such as music rooms.

Access to the College
While we continue through this transitional period, I require that parents/guardians please avoid coming into the College grounds, including reception. If you are picking up your child, please remain in your car.

I continue to endeavour to minimise any risk of exposure and ask your assistance in doing all we can to keep our community safe and well.

I thank you again for your continued support as we continue to adapt to the demands of COVID-19. I am hopeful that we are nearing a time where we will once again be able to live and celebrate freely.

God bless.

Kind regards,
Rory Kennedy
Principal
